Seit heute mittag liegt die Independence of the Seas im Tiefseehafen in Cobh vor Anker. Immerhin ist das ja eins von drei baugleichen Schiffen der Royal Carribbean International, die momentan die größten Kreuzfahrtschiffe der Welt sind.
Kurz ein paar technische Daten (hier geklaut):
Seit heute mittag liegt die Independence of the Seas im Tiefseehafen in Cobh vor Anker. Immerhin ist das ja eins von drei baugleichen Schiffen der Royal Carribbean International, die momentan die größten Kreuzfahrtschiffe der Welt sind.

Sah so bei der Einfahrt in den Hafen auf den ersten Blick relativ kompakt aus, ehrlich gesagt... Allerdings war sie da auch noch knapp 2,5km entfernt :-) War aber schon ein Schauspiel, vorwärts in Hafen rein, neben der Kaimauer angehalten, um 180 auf der Stelle gedreht und langsam angelegt:

Today and tomorrow you can watch / visit one of the three largest cruise ships of the world in the Port of Cork (Cobh): The Independence of the Seas. Being 1,111.9ft long, 180ft wide and having (?) a draught of 29ft, this boat is kind of impressive to see. Especially if you have the background of a small Irish town like Cobh... Btw. the people of Cobh really celebrate this "event" and there are loads of people watching, whilst the ship enters the harbour and rotates 180 degrees on the spot before being towed to the quay.
